Privacy policy
The small print, in plain English.
PassADI.ie ('we', 'us') is an exam-preparation platform for trainee driving instructors in Ireland. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who we are
PassADI.ie is operated from Ireland. For any privacy question or request, contact hello@passadi.ie. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
2. What we collect
Account data: your email address, display name and password (stored as a secure hash — we never see it) when you create an account.
Learning data: your quiz attempts, answers, scores and progress, so the product can show your accuracy, weak areas and mock-exam history.
Starter-kit data: if you request the free ADI starter kit, we store the name, email address, county and journey stage you give us so we can send it and follow up with relevant preparation emails.
Payment data: if you subscribe, payments are processed by our payment provider; we store your subscription status, not your card details.
Technical data: basic logs (IP address, browser type) generated by our hosting and database providers for security and reliability. Some interface icons are loaded from Iconify’s public API, which sees the same technical data any web request carries; it sets no cookies.
3. Why we process it (legal bases)
To provide the service you signed up for — accounts, progress, subscriptions (contract).
To send the free starter kit and related preparation emails you asked for (consent — you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us, and we will stop and delete your details).
To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).
To respond when you contact us (legitimate interest).
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Where your data lives
Your data is stored with our database provider (Supabase) in an EU region and served through our hosting provider (Vercel). Where any processor operates outside the EEA, transfers are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep it
Account and learning data are kept while your account exists. Delete your account and the data linked to it is removed; residual backups expire on our providers’ standard cycles. Starter-kit details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons are retained only as long as the law requires.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, or object to processing. Email hello@passadi.ie and we will respond within one month.
You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie), Ireland’s supervisory authority.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use only strictly necessary and functional first-party cookies: a sign-in session cookie and a display-preferences cookie. Study progress on guide pages is kept in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device. We run no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking cookies, which is why you see no cookie-consent banner — under EU ePrivacy rules, consent is only required for non-essential cookies. The full inventory is on our Cookie Policy page at passadi.ie/legal/cookies. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first.
8. Leaderboards and public data
If leaderboards are enabled, only your chosen nickname and score appear — never your email or real name, unless you set your nickname to it.
9. Changes
We will post any material change to this policy on this page and update the date above.
